Some kind of me

Well. The day has finally arrived. After years of thinking to myself, “Ah, I wish I just had a blog so I could get this out”, or hearing people (specifically my mother) tell me, “Karina, you just need a blog”, I have finally buckled down and committed to the arduous process of not only finding a domain name that vaguely described what I would write about, but also finding one that was not already taken by the entire world. At times it felt impossible, but alas, Some Kind of Me was born. SUCCESS.

Let’s see…what will I write about?

Well, I love movies. It’s actually one of my favorite things in the world. So be prepared to hear my thoughts about any and everything to do with those.

I also love to read. Even if looking at my bookshelf suggests that I am a 13 year old girl, I promise I am not. But hey, I have absolutely no shame (eh…45% shame) in admitting that I have read most, if not all, of the young-adult/dystopian/coming-of-age books that have recently been turned into movies. For people who get too caught up in the “you’re too old to read those books” mindset, I present to you a quote by one of the best writers out there:

“I wrote this story for you, but when I began it I had not realized that girls grow quicker than books. As a result you are already too old for fairy tales, and by the time it is printed and bound you will be older still. But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.” -C.S. Lewis

Just let that sink in.

Honestly, I love a lot of things. I love to laugh, go on rants, be inspired, see new places, and have fun. If you follow my posts, you will quickly learn that. My goal with all of this is just to show you a little bit of everything that makes me…me. Some kind of me that you may not have known was there, but that has been there all along.

So. Let’s do this.
